The Country Roads Walk at Haworth and the Worth Valley in Yorkshire on Saturday July 1st 2006

Member of Friends of John Denver UK at Oakworth Station, ‘The Railway Children Station’.

We all had a great day in the Worth Valley on the official Railway Children Walk, which was 6 miles long. It was very hot and dry, summer has come at last.

The walk started at Haworth and the Bronte Parsonage, then we all walked to Oakworth station where we had our lunch. After watching a couple of steam trains go by, we set off to Haworth station via the railway tunnel. We continued over fields to Oxenhope station, stopping at the packhorse bridge for Emma & Daisy to cool off in the stream.

It was then over the stile and railway and up the hill to ‘The Three Chimneys’ before setting off over the fields back to Haworth.

Thank you to all who came on the Country Roads Walk, in friendship and remembering our friend John Denver.

Below are some photo’s of the day’s walk.
